‘The ephemeral city squares’ – finale.
14th of June 2014 – The finale of the ephemeral actions run by students of Landscape Architecture and Spatial Planing from the Catholic University of Lublin took place on chosen city squares, this year using Jan Gehl’s ideas of ‘Cities for People’. The selected squares were: Rybny, Łokietka, Wolności, Kochanowskiego and Zielona Street.

The actions consisted of temporary artistic interventions, enrolled in the local context and trying to create a relationship with the users, as well as to recognize the potential of the place.

  • 10:00-22:00 Łokietka Square – ‘A call for benches’ – Joanna Wójcik, Andżelika Madej, Aleksandra Warwas.
  • 17:00-21:00 Wolności Square – ‘The flying Wolności Square’ – Marek Czeżyk, Magdalena Krzysiak, Małgorzata Koszańska, Natalia Paja, Sandra Majdak, Kiara Mercało.
  • 17:00-21:00 Zielona Street – Paulina Olszowska, Mateusz Kapusta, Katarzyna Latos
  • 19:00-22:00 Rybny Square – ‘The magic of Rybny Square’ – Stanisława Fidor-Tatarczuk, Bożena Palak, Paulina Barnat, Paulina Głodek.
  • 20:30-23:00 Kochanowskiego Square – ‘Kochanowski as the light of the city’ – Agnieszka Ćwieka, Julita Grudzień, Justyna Pastuszko, Natalia Pachuta, Anita Góra, Edyta Kozak.

The event was held in cooperation with the Institute of Landscape Architecture of the Catholic University of Lublin (http://www.kul.pl/aktualnosci, art_3608.html, https://pl-pl.facebook.com/InstytutAK), along with Lublin City Office as a part of the USER-Urbact program.
