‘Ephemeral Actions in space’ under the care of The Year of Jan Gehl

14th of March 2014 the idea of Year of Jan Gehl was presented to the students of Landscape Design, Catholic University of Lublin with the support of students from the Spatial Management of University of Maria Curie-Skłodowska University, as a preperation for the annual event of ‘Ephemeral Actions in public space’.

This years ‘Ephemeral Actions’ were included in the USER project, in which Lublin City Office participates as a part of the Urbact EU program. The theme of USER are conflicts and changes in the use of public spaces. The students were asked to work on the squares and to propose a temporary intervention in the spirit of ‘cities for people’ and human oriented design, that is the ideas of Jan Gehl. After the meeting the group went for a site inspection, before a workshop that will take place on the 28th of March together with “Palce Lizać” (Facebook website).
